Wanted! Jesse James' Stash of Morgan Silver Dollars
Among the most notorious outlaws of the 19th century were Jesse James and his gang. With his face posted on Wanted signs across the United States, his name became synonymous with stealing loot from banks, stagecoaches and trains. Sometimes it was jewelry, sometimes bags of money, but he preferred "hard currency" like Silver Dollars to line his pockets. This Morgan Silver Dollar was struck in 1882, the year James was killed by a member of his own gang looking for reward money. Such is the fate of a wanted outlaw. Struck in 90% silver, this Silver Dollar carries the "S" mintmark and is in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition. Many were lost to time and the melting pot, others just wore out from use–it's not every day you see specimens like this in highly-collectible condition. Each comes in a custom-designed holder featuring the Jesse James story and detailed coin information.
