2022 is the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln Memorial, the famous and popular landmark dedicated in May of 1922 in Washington, D.C. that towers over the Reflecting Pool, anchoring the western end of the National Mall. The beautiful site which houses the famous statue of a seated President Abraham Lincoln one of the country’s beloved shrines ever since. Lincoln, known as “Honest Abe” and “the Railsplitter,” was the 16th President of the United States prior to his assassination in 1865. This set features the following:

• 1959–1982 LINCOLN COPPER CENT. Beginning in 1959, The Lincoln Penny replaced the Wheat Ears on the coin’s reverse was an image of the Lincoln Memorial. The new design was approved In 1958 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth. These coins have a composition of 95% Copper and 5% Tin & Zinc. • 198–2008 LINCOLN ZINC/COPPER PLATED CENT. Due to the increased costs of copper, the composition of the Lincoln Cent was changed to 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper. The Lincoln Memorial was removed from the reverse for a series of special one-year-only designs commemorating the bicentennial of Lincoln’s birth. Since 2010 the “Union Shield” design has been used on the reverse. Date our choice.
• 1953–1963 $5 LEGAL TENDER CURRENCY NOTE WITH A RED SEAL. Red Seal Five Dollar Bills are United States Legal Tender Notes that circulated at the same time as Silver Certificate. The bill’s obverse features a portrait of Abraham Lincoln while the reverse depicts the Lincoln Memorial. The seal and serial numbers for these U.S. Legal Tender Notes are printed in red.
