Five Decades of S-Mint Wheatback Cents
Since its debut in 1909 through today, the Lincoln Cent has been a staple of pocket change in the United States right up to this very day. Struck continuously for more than 110 years, the Lincoln Cent is one of America’s most popular coins. And for the first 50 years it was issued from 1909 to 1958, the Lincoln Cent famously featured two stalks of wheat on its reverse on either side of the coin’s denomination. These “Wheatback Cents” are among the most popular vintage U.S. coins ever struck and served as the gateway into coin collecting for many of us.
This great set brings together one Lincoln Cent from each decade it was struck: 1910–1919, 1920–1929, 1930–1939, 1940–1949 and 1950–1959. Each coin was struck by the San Francisco Mint and will come in nice Fine (F) condition. The collection also comes beautifully presented in a 3" x 5" presentation card. This is a great mini collection that spans two World Wars, the Roaring ’20s, the Great Depression and more! It also makes a great gift for anyone just entering the hobby. Add several to your cart – one for yourself and one for every young collector on your list!
