1953 1–50 Cent 5-pc Set G–VG
Remember When Ike Was President?
In 1953, war hero General Dwight D. Eisenhower became President of the United States bringing a prestige to the Presidency like few before him. As Supreme Allied Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe that orchestrated victory in Europe during World War II, “Ike” set out to make his mark from the very beginning by obtaining a truce that ended combat in the Korean War (1950–1953). The popular president continued to work incessantly during his two terms (1953-1961) to ease Cold War tensions. Truly, the “Ike Years” was a time in America that was characterized by peace and prosperity.
