When the Morgan Silver Dollar was first introduced by the Philadelphia Mint, the eagle on the reverse featured eight tail feathers (8TF). However, within the same year the Mint also released a "7 over 8" (7/8TF) tail feather design, as well as two different reverses featuring seven tail feathers(7TF) -- the original "flat-breasted" eagle reverse, and an updated "round-breasted" design.This incredible collection brings together all four of these variants, as well as the 1878-S struck in San Francisco and the coveted 1878-CC struck in Carson City. That's six different 1878 Morgans, all match-graded and certified Mint State-63 (MS63) by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).
