Designed by George T. Morgan, 7th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, the obverse of the Morgan Silver Dollar depicts Lady Liberty with stars above her head, surrounded by the words "LIBERTY," "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the date 1888. The coin's reverse features a bald eagle soaring upward as it clutches an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Inscribed on the reverse are the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR," and "IN GOD WE TRUST" in archaic lettering, along with "O" to indicate your coin was minted at the historic New Orleans Mint.
