What Happens to the Coins Collected from the Trevi Fountain?

What Happens to the Coins Collected from the Trevi Fountain?

By GovMint :

Coins that are tossed into the Trevi Fountain are donated to charity. After accumulating for several days, the coins are retrieved and given to the Roman division of Caritas, a worldwide Catholic charity who uses the funds to support various welfare projects, including a food bank and soup kitchen, helping those in need within the community. In 2022, Caritas collected approximately 1.4 million euros from the fountain, a figure which is expected to increase as tourism continues to thrive in Rome.
