What is the Difference Between Type 1 and Type 2 Gold Eagles?

By GovMint :
Like their silver counterparts, American Gold Eagles have undergone a notable transformation with the introduction of the Type 2 design.Type 1 Gold Eagles, minted from 1986 to mid-2021, feature a reverse design by Miley Frost, depicting a family of eagles. In 2021, the United States Mint introduced the Type 2 Gold Eagle, which brought a fresh perspective with a new reverse design by Jennie Norris that showcases a striking close-up portrait of a bald eagle.
In addition to the reverse design, One Ounce Type 2 Gold Eagles also incorporate an enhanced security feature in the form of a reeded edge variation to combat counterfeiting.
